Anniversary of the International Criminal Court
During the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, November 14, and in the presence of Her Majesty Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands, the Flag of Compassion – special edition nr. 2/50 – is presented to ICC President H.E Judge Sang-Hyun Song. Many high-level officials, representatives of the joining countries, ambassadors, international judges and other dignitaries, have attended the ceremony.
The Flag is presented by students of a Dutch International Primary School, the Haagsche Schoolvereeniging.
Preceding the presentation, Hans van Rooij performs certain patterns from the ritualistic 'flag prayer', accompanied by drumming, expressing the fight between good and evil.
