Flag of Compassion Stories
2018

A story by Mark Avery

Fairlee, Vermont, March 2018

A symbol to rethink our values

The United States seems to have a mass shooting every week. Our Country is disconnected, is desensitized to gun violence and it is time for a symbol to remind citizens of compassion, of humanity, of caring; that we are one and need to become connected once again. Flag of Compassion is a small, yet important reminder of what society needs to strive to be. The Flag will fly outside my business, a hotel, in Vermont and I look forward to the discussion that it provokes.
