The video installation Sequence consists of two projections, which are different in size and have their own sound. In the installation, both videos are facing each other.
Cleansing and washing are deeply embedded in many cultures and religions. The footage in Sequence, filmed in a public washing place in Mumbay, India, is juxtaposed with images taken of The White Shroud, an installation of hundreds of white garments of children, exhibited at Sonsbeek 2008: Grandeur in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
Sequence reflects on the question of the transient and the everlasting, on repetition and rituals, on the daily activities and on the transcendental.
