installation
text, sound, active directional loudspeaker with integrated motion sensor,
2 wooden pools, each with a Flag of Compassion
The installation Flag Prayer deals with the idea that the choreography of the patterns waved by the flag twirler is rooted in a prayer. The meaning of these patterns is described in a 'flag prayer'.
The text on the wall is a Dutch version of the 'flag prayer' written in 1971 in Berlicum, the Netherlands.
The sound only starts when someone moves in the space. One will hear the accompanying drum sound used when twirlers wave the patterns of the 'flag prayer'.
