The exhibition ...and the wind of history sings in me... (Lumen Travo) shows three installations, which are inextricably linked: Don Quixote, Flag Prayer and The Colours – Homeland, Part XI. All works stem from the artwork Flag of Compassion.
The title of the exhibition is based on the lyrics of L’homme De La Mancha performed by Jacques Brel.
With this installation, Hurkmans confronts people with reflections on the continuation of historical traditions and national identity formation in an increasingly globalized and multicultural world.
